The installation designed by Studio AIM for the flagship store in Via Fatebenefratelli 23 creates a dialogue between Milano Collection furniture by Luca Scacchetti and Ettore Sottsass’ coffee tables from the 2002 Limited Edition, in a confrontation between the solid equilibrium of the living room and an unchecked space for timeless objects, which alternate in a central volume that evokes the staircase concept. The different sized steps and mirrored floor surface alter the perception of this element, transforming it into an ephemeral object that contradicts standard space rules. On the wall a composition of Sottsass’ drafts and drawings is displayed next to the ideas and the great questions that the Maestro posed on market, design and life itself.
